Register Your Finds
Here's a built-in app you can use to log your own finds. It's primarily designed for use on mobile phones. To start it up, click .
It uses the full screen and has been made to be easy to input finds data and photographs when you're out looking. Your phone will automatically put in the entry for the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)) when you take your first picture, as a latitude and longitude.
When you photograph the object in situ, where you find it, try to put a ruler, a coin, or even your hand in the picture to give an impression of size. Once you've completed entering the data for a find, click the Upload Your Submission button and wait until the screen updates - note that this may take a while if the mobile signal is slow and you are uploading large photographs.
Once you've finished registering your finds, click the Close Window button at the bottom to return to the website.
Your picture will appear in a 'Collections' section called 'UFind'. We can't offer an identification service, head off to Norfolk Fossil Finds for that, a great Facebook community site. If you do get further information, please send in using the 'Contact Us' button to add to your record. We'll certainly add in further information when we can.
